Vessels

Only a vessel now empty
lies waiting on the dry sand,
and the boards bleached white and shrunken
are wanting the renewing hand.

The ebb tide of love washes out, washes out
tugging on the hearts of the young,
and washes them out to an ocean,
the womb of rebirth to renew.

The flood tide of love charges in, charges in
onto the barren dry sand.
The youth of the earth
alive from rebirth
go forth to the promised land.
