God's Provision
« on: June 22, 2010, 06:38:01 AM »
I read this yesterday in Charles' Stanley's daily devotiona, and thought I would share it here:

"Our problem is not that the Lord won't provide for us, but that we so often fail to understand what our deepest needs are. God sees from an unlimited perspective and works for our eternal good, providing for us according to His good purposes from the limitless supply of 'His riches in glory.'"

What a blessing that God does know everything and provide for us based on that!

I like that phrase in Carolyn Mc Culley's book "Did I kiss marriage goodbye" were she quotes her pastor who was talking about deferred hopes of getting married:

“God has already met your greatest need. He has already spared You His wrath and judgment. Why not trust Him for a much lesser need in life?”

...Why not trust Him for a much lesser need in life?...
  Neat quote.
Sounds like Carolyn  Mc C has a handle on this.

There's an important extreme here tho:

Why not flip that and ask why folks so often feel they have to abandon the Lord's clear directives to lay hold on that fickle prize.

... if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
 - Jesus

...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

- Jesus

if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned.
Nevertheless such shall have trouble  in the flesh

- Paul

Ok First offalot make following Jesus like it is the easiest thing on theplanet and I bet most of you are living hypercritical lives as we speak! I really have to wonder why anyone who is a christian would ask such a stupid question about why People would ditch GOD for their own desires? That is an easy answer becuase not everyone can endure a life of servitude to Christ Jesus THAT'S  WHY!!!! >:(
