All of Me - thoughts about what is required by God
« on: June 13, 2010, 02:04:45 AM »
God wants all - not just a part - like a hand or foot - but all of me.
It is all that is required. It is all. Everything. Heart, mind, soul and body. Nothing left out of the equation. Blood. Eye lids. All. Everything
Words. Communication. Single mindedness. The heart of the matter. It is the driving force.
Passion. It is not holding back. Unconditional being love. Living love.  Unconditional. It is finding ways to show compassion and love.
It shines from your eyes love. Pours from pores love.
It is being more afraid of not living up to His expectations than everyone else’s.
It is listening in the middle of the night for His words. Opening up to wanting to be used for His purpose love and working His frame work, not mine.
It is learning to be patient for His love to work in me, through me.
It is trying to listen in the middle of the night to His words – being still – listening with all that I’ve become.
It is daughter to my king. Listening. Wanting to please. Not fail.[/size]

Wow. "It is being more afraid of not living up to His expectations than everyone else's. It is listening in the middle of the night for His words...It is trying to listen in the middle of the night to His words - being still - listening with all that I've become. It is daughter to my king. Listening."
More than just these parts touched my heart, but these parts especially did. Thank you for posting this.

No doubt, most all of us would say we care more about pleasing God than man. Not to mention pleasing ourself. I find how much I'm invested in this world when something I feel I need or want is threatened.
I also notice this when I can tell I'm not coming off well (not well spoken, smart, interesting, good looking or even competent enough).

Here is an oft quoted scripture I try to remember. Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Very challenging stuff. I remember days (years) when I loved God more than anything/anyone else. I have moved from that solid position and am working my way back to devotion to God, his ways and his will. It's the biggest struggle because in the back of my mind a little voice is telling me I'm going to miss out on a lot of living, fun and normality if I make God my No.1 focus. Dear God, give me the true and correct perspective I need to live for you. Show me the lies I am believing that are stopping me from giving my all to you....

l've never felt like I'm missing out on a lot of living, fun and normality by making God No. 1 in life. We are obligated to follow God's laws, but we are forgiven for the times we fall short. Embrace the forgiveness, freedom and future Christ provides.
