Dad is doing so much better now. It's been confirmed that he has West Nile virus. The type, or degree, of it is viral meningitis. But it seems like he's past the worst of it and is now making a lot of progress. He's been transferred back to our home hospital as of yesterday.
Thanks for your prayers. It's so clear that the spiritual part of our lives is always so important, no matter what's going on. This was such a growing time. I see so clearly the need to grow in trusting God no matter what, and to choose this daily regardless of whether things are going okay or whether it's the tough times.
My pastor talked to me this week about the need to choose to walk faithfully each day so that when the tough times come, it's a well established way of life. He had come up to visit us and I told him I wasn't doing as well as I wished.
I never did get the hang of being able to sleep well during this time, but God had that in His hands. I chose to use my "can't sleep" time at night to pray, so it was okay with me.
